The EEO-1 Survey

All private employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors and first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees and a contract/subcontract of $50,000 or more are required to file the EEO-1 report annually by September 30th.  EEOC has sent out the survey notification letters to employers; however, if you do not receive a letter by August 15th, you should contact the EEO-1 Joint Reporting Commission at 1-877-392-4647 or e-mail e1.techassistance@eeoc.govPlease note that the 2015 passwords will not work for 2016.  If your contact person has changed, you must submit a change of contact request to EEOC on company letterhead before you can obtain your 2016 password online.

To file the EEO-1 report, you must use employee data from any pay period between July 1st and September 30th, 2016.  For those companies who have e-mailed data files in the past can now upload the data with new website enhancements.  Additional information on EEO-1 Data Load Enhancements may be found at:  https://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo1survey/eeo1-data-upload-enhancements.cfm.

EEOC’s EEO-1 survey website for EEO-1 contains reference documents such as a sample form, instructions, FAQ’s, a fact sheet and EEO-1 Job Classification Guide.

VETS-4212 Reporting

There is a new threshold for VETS-4212 filing.  The threshold has increased from $100,000 to $150,000 in government contracts.  Only file the VETS-4212 report if your organization meets the new contract threshold.

Employee data to file the VETS-4212 reports must be pulled from any pay period between July 1st and August 30th.  To support the VETS-4212 report you also need to pull new hire data for the 12-month period preceding the ending date of the selected payroll period.  When reporting data on total employment and hiring, all employees need to be accounted for even if they have chosen not to self-identify.

If you would like assistance in filing your reports, please let us know.  We will be glad to file the reports on your behalf.
