HSBC Wins Retaliation Case

A Manhattan federal jury needed just over two hours to reject a former HSBC Securities senior vice president's claims that he was retaliated against for standing up for a female sexual harassment victim, delivering a verdict this morning that the bank is not liable.

The eight-woman, one man civil jury deliberated for just over 90 minutes Wednesday evening and for about 45 minutes Thursday morning before delivering the verdict against plaintiff Michael Picarella, who was fired by the bank in March 2015.
