First Cabela’s now Bass Pro Shop deal with allegations of discrimination

Bass Pro Outdoor World, LLC settled a lawsuit filed by EEOC alleging race discrimination, against African-Americans and Hispanics, and retaliation.  Bass Pro will pay $10.5 million and provide other significant relief to settle the suit that alleged that the company discriminated in hiring at its retail stores, unlawfully retaliated against employees who opposed practices they believed were lawful, and failed to adhere to federal recordkeeping requirements.

The company will appoint a director of diversity and inclusion, increase its affirmative outreach efforts, update its EEO policies and hiring practices, and conduct EEO training to all employees.
