OFCCP enters into consent decree with The Wackenhut Corporation

The Wackenhut Corporation, doing business as G4S Wackenhut in its Aurora, Colorado facility, has entered into a consent decree with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).  OFCCP alleges that Wackenhut engaged in hiring discrimination against 446 rejected African-American applicants for the position of traditional security officer for a two-year period.  Under the terms of the consent decree, Wackenhut will pay a total of $290,000 for back pay and interest to the rejected applicants and will hire 41 of the applicants into traditional security positions.  The company will also undertake extensive self-monitoring measures to ensure that all hiring practices comply with the law.
