OFCCP Settles with InterCall for $700,000

InterCall, a subsidiary of West Corporation of Omaha, Neb, the world's largest conferencing provider entered into a conciliation agreement with OFCCP and will pay $700,000 to minority job applicants.  During a scheduled compliance review, OFCCP determined that InterCall violated Executive Order 11246 by discriminatig against 103 African American, 28 Asian, and 20 Hispanic job applicants who were systemically rejected for sales associate positions at InterCall's Chicago offices in 2006 and 2007.

Under the terms of the conciliation agreement, InterCall will:

  • Pay $700,000 to the 151 affected minority applicants who returned timely notifications.
  • Undertake extensive self-monitoring and corrective measures to ensure that all employment practices fully comply with the law and will immediately correct any discriminatory practices.
