EEOC Passes Resolution Condemning Anti-Semitism

Resolution supports Jewish American Heritage Month

On May 26, 2021, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) unanimously approved a resolution condemning the recent violence, harassment, and acts of bias against Jewish people.  EEOC remains resolute in its commitment to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protecting individuals against harassment and other forms of employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, and national origin.

In addition to restating its commitment to combat all forms of harassment and discrimination against members of the Jewish community, EEOC is committed to ensuring equal opportunity, inclusion, and dignity for all in the workforce.

“The recent violence and harassment against Jewish persons serve as a reminder of the challenges we face as a nation and the importance of the agency’s work. The Commission stands with the victims, their families and the nation’s Jewish communities,” said EEOC Chair Charlotte A. Burrows.
