NBC/Wall Street Journal polls shows decline in people supporting AA programs

NBC and the Wall Street Journal conducted a poll between May 30 - June 2, 2013 to weigh in on the issue of affirmative action. The poll disclosed that the number of Americans supporting affirmative action has been in decline over the past two decades, down from a high of 61% in 1991. Only 45% of the respondents felt that affirmative action programs are still needed to counteract the effects of discrimination against minorities.  An equal 45% of the respondents felt that the  programs have gone too far and should be ended because they unfairly discriminate against white.
