Ketan Bhirud Sworn in as EEOC Legal Counsel

Bhirud has State government and private industry experience

Prior to his appointment to Legal Counsel at EEOC, Ketan D. Bhirud worked for the State of Nevada for over four years as their Chief Litigation Counsel for 10 months; as General Counsel for three years and Head of Complex Litigation for seven months.   Before public service Bhirud worked for the private law firms of Dinkinson Wright and Lionel Sawyer & Collins in Las Vegas.   Bhirud specialized in regulatory and litigation matters along with administrative and state and federal constitutional law. 

Bhirud graduated from the University of California with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science and received his JD, Law from the University of Minnesota Law School. 

The EEOC’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) acts as the principal advisor on enforcement matters and also draft regulations, guidance and technical assistance documents, conducts outreach and education efforts, and coordinates on behalf of EEOC on all federal issues relating to equal employment opportunity.  The OLC also represents EEOC in defensive litigation and manages the FOIA program.
